🍀 Want more luck? Try this!

Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, and it got me thinking about luck. We tend to think of luck as something random - a chance encounter, an unexpected win, a perfect moment that just happens.

Merriam-Webster defines lucky as “producing or resulting in good by chance.” But do things really happen by chance, or is good fortune all around us and we just need to be open to it?

Think about it. When do you get some of your best ideas?

It’s probably not when you’re forcing them. More often, they come when you’re taking a shower, walking outside, or staring out the window. When you step away, something clicks.

That’s serendipity. And it loves space.

But here’s the thing: if we fill every second with scrolling, emails, and distractions, we leave no room for it to find us.

So this week, I invite you to try creating a Serendipity Window - a space for unexpected magic to happen.

Here are three ideas:

  • Choose a time block (15 min, 30 min, an hour) to go tech-free. No phone, no distractions - just an open moment to be.

  • Go somewhere different. Take a walk in a new direction, sit in a coffee shop without your phone, or switch up your routine slightly - small shifts invite unexpected moments.

  • Let your mind wander. Instead of filling empty time with scrolling or multitasking, let thoughts bubble up naturally. See what ideas or insights surface when you aren’t forcing them.

The best surprises, you know...the ones that feel like luck, often need space to find us.

So, where could you create a little space this week?

Oh, and if you need some help creating space for yourself and honoring that time, reach out! Reply to this email and I'd be happy to brainstorm with you or book some time on my calendar for us to chat.

Sending love and serendipity vibes,

Chris

P.S.
Back to the image at the top of this newsletter. I really didn’t go searching for these. I noticed them just by slowing down and being present. A bird that let me take so many pictures of it, a pica posing for photos in Wyoming, a heart-shaped leaf on my fave trail, and a tiny reflection of a tree in a raindrop.

Little moments of wonder are always waiting to be seen. What might you notice today?

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week's Tip: The Noticing Pause

Stop for a moment. Take a slow breath in… and out.

Let your eyes wander and notice one small detail around you.

A color, a shape, a shadow, a texture.

No need to label or analyze. Just see it.

A simple pause, a tiny shift and suddenly, you’re here.
