Too busy to notice what you’re missing?

Your Weekly Invitation to Slow Down...
Pause for 30 seconds, take a deep breath, and ask yourself:

How often do you see what you expect - rather than what’s actually there?
What if slowing down allowed you to notice what you’ve been missing?
Take this gentle pause with you if time is short, or settle in softly and explore with me...I'd love your company 🧚🏻

Have you ever fallen for an April Fool's joke? We used to play them on my mom all the time, and she fell for them... A LOT! Okay, I'll admit...I've fallen for quite a few myself 🤷‍♀️

But why do we fall for them? Our brains often react quickly, piecing together information. They often fill in gaps, assume patterns, and jump to conclusions before we even realize it.

It's our brain on autopilot. We trust what we see, hear, or read without pausing to question it. But what if we did pause? What if we slowed down enough to notice what's in front of us?

Because here's the thing: This doesn't just happen on April 1st.

  • How often do we move so fast through life that we don't notice what's real and what's just our assumptions taking over?
  • How often do we get caught up in to-do lists, expectations of others, all the things... only to realize later that we missed something important - about ourselves, others, and what we truly need?

Slowing down isn't just about avoiding pranks (although it's a nice bonus on April 1st!). It's about creating space to see more clearly.

Here are three ways to quickly slow down when you feel like you are moving too fast:

  1. Take three deep breaths. Pause and breathe deeply through your nose for three full cycles. This activates your parasympathetic nervous system and creates an immediate mental reset.
  2. Use the 5-4-3-2-1 technique. Name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This sensory grounding exercise will pull you back into the present moment.
  3. Ask yourself: "What's one thing I know is true right now?" This simple question cuts through assumptions and reconnects you with reality instead of your interpretations or projections.

So, this week, I invite you to ponder this question:

What truth about yourself, your needs, or your life might become clearer if you slowed down?

If you’re ready to slow down and reconnect with yourself, book a free connection call with me.

Let’s explore how slowing down can lead to bigger shifts and a clearer path forward.

Sending love and slow down vibes,

Chris

🌿 Root Yourself

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week's Tip: Plant Your Feet, Feel the Earth

Go outside and stand or sit with both bare feet firmly on the ground.

Press them down and notice the connection. Imagine roots extending from your feet into the earth, grounding you in the here and now.

Let the stillness settle in before moving forward.
