How do you know when it's time to step back...take a break?

Your Weekly Invitation to Slow Down...
Pause for 30 seconds, take a deep breath, and ask yourself:

How do I know when it’s time to step back?

What does unplugging look like for me?

Take this gentle pause with you if time is short, or settle in softly and explore with me...I'd love your company 🧚🏻

When this newsletter lands in your inbox, I'll be at my favorite trail by the river. (the one pictured above!)

I took this weekend to unplug because, honestly, my mind was buzzing with all the thoughts, all the time.

  • Yes, I meditate daily.
  • Yes, I limit my social media time.

But still, I found myself feeling scattered.

It wasn't necessarily what I was consuming but how much. Emails, chats, communities, social media - not mindless scrolling, but engaging with friends and my network. None of it was stressful, but I could feel the mental clutter building.

That's my signal. Time to step back and recenter.

So, I hit the unplug button Friday afternoon and I'm staying that way until Monday morning. But here's the thing - it wasn’t all or nothing with unplugging. I designed this reset for me.

I unplugged from apps, communities, social media, and even group chats. But I kept my texts and I still used the internet for research. I’m watching a few YouTube videos - ironically, about making YouTube videos and 360º videos, my latest learning obsession.

Because unplugging isn't about rigid rules. It's about choosing what you need.

So, this week, I invite you to ponder:

  • How do you know when it’s time to step back?
  • What would your version of unplugging look like?

Hit reply and let me know your thoughts on those questions - I'd love to hear them!

And....if you need some help brainstorming what that might look like for, just reply and let me know what's on your mind. Or, set up a free chat to see how I might be able to support you in stepping back and unplugging.

You can grab some time on my calender here.

Until next time...

Sending love and calm vibes,

Chris

🌿 Root Yourself

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week's Tip: Pause & Notice

Find a quiet space. Close your eyes, take a deep breath in… and let it go.

Now, notice: What’s filling your mind? What’s pulling at your attention? No need to fix - just observe.

Gently place your hands over your heart or on your lap. Breathe in quiet, breathe out the noise.

Unplugging starts here - not with a grand gesture, but with a simple pause.
