Lost in Doing? Get Back to Being...

There’s something about a sunrise. The quiet stillness before the world fully wakes, the shifting colors painting the sky, the feeling of endless possibility in the air.

Sunrises are one of the moments I feel truly alive. When everything stops, and I’m just there - breathing it in, feeling the air on my skin, watching the sky shift and shimmer. It’s a moment of awe, connection, and deep presence.

I call these Soul Play moments. They’re the moments when my essence comes out to play….to shine, to run free, to just be. They are the times when I feel most like me - no masks or filters, fully alive, and deeply connected to something bigger.

But it’s not just sunrises. It happens when I’m walking in the forest, getting lost in a creative flow, sharing deep conversations with friends, or even blowing bubbles ( I LOVE a bubble moment!). It’s when I feel that undeniable spark, that sense of presence, that sense of me being fully alive...that makes everything else fade into the background.

And….I know how easy it is for these moments to get lost in the rush of daily life. The constant doing pulls us away from being. And without being, we lose those moments that make life feel rich, full, and truly ours.

But what if you made space for them?

That's right. Made space for them. Because you know what?

No one is going to make space for them for you.
They don't just appear on your schedule.
You have to prioritize them.
Prioritize you.
Prioritize living and not just getting by.

So, as you look at your week ahead, I’d love for you to ponder this question:

What’s one thing you can do each day to engage in Soul Play?

Now, maybe sunrises and forest walks aren’t your thing. But you’ve had your own Soul Play moments. You know…those times when you’re fully present, when you feel alive and connected to life itself. Even if it’s just for a few minutes.

At its core, Soul Play is about letting go and tuning in. It’s about being fully present and allowing yourself to just be. It can take any form—stillness, movement, creativity, or something in between.

For example, you might spend time:

  • Savoring your morning beverage
  • Watching the sunrise or sunset
  • Coloring
  • Playing with your pet
  • Blowing bubbles
  • Dancing to your favorite song
  • Letting your mind wander in daydreams

This week, I invite you to find your own Soul Play moments…to create space for your essence to shine, to breathe, to play. To just be...even if it's only for a few minutes.

I'd love to hear - what does Soul Play look like for you? Reply to this email and share what you noticed and if you need help exploring this question, just ask. I'm happy to brainstorm.

Sending love and Soul Play vibes,

Chris

P.S. One of the best ways to engage in Soul Play and be fully present is to unplug from distractions; especially digital ones. That’s why I’m hosting a mini-challenge during the Global Day of Unplugging (sundown to sundown, March 7-8).

Want to join? Just reply to this email with “I’m in!” and I’ll add you to the list. You’ll get a few simple reminders, tips to prepare, and a check-in afterward—nothing overwhelming, just a little support to help you truly unplug and reconnect.

Hope to see you there! ✨

P.P.S. Not sure what lights you up? Want to explore what Soul Play might look like for you? Whether that’s engaging in more playful moments or something else? Grab some time on my calendar and let’s chat!

🌿 Root Yourself

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week’s Tip: Awaken Your Senses

Close your eyes, take a deep breath in… and slowly exhale. Now, tune in:

  • See: Notice colors, light, and movement.
  • Hear: Listen to the sounds around you.
  • Touch: Feel textures, warmth, or coolness.
  • Smell: Breathe in and observe any scents.
  • Taste: Savor a sip or bite with full attention.

Take one more deep breath, then step into your day with presence.
