Leave a little space for yourself this weekend

Weekends can get… busy. Especially holiday weekends (it's Memorial Day next weekend here in the US). Errands to run. Cookouts to show up for. Things to check off the list.

But somewhere in all that doing, don’t forget about you.

Make a little space to breathe. To pause. To just be.
Whatever that looks like for you.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to slow down, even just for a moment:

• Stop and watch the clouds drift by

• Take a walk — no music or podcasts, just noticing what's around you

• Open that book you’ve been meaning to read for ages

• Sip your morning coffee or tea slowly, like it’s the best part of your day

That’s it. Nothing fancy.

Just a few moments that are yours…for no one else but you.

Because honestly… what’s the point of a weekend if you end it feeling more drained than when it started?

Give yourself permission to rest without needing to earn it.

If you want a little help making rest and unplugging a regular thing, I’d love to connect. Reply to this email or book a free connection call and let’s explore how to make space for you to actually breathe again.

Just remember that you're allowed to slow down and take time for you.

Sending love and slow down vibes,

Chris

🌿 Unplugged Moments

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week's Practice: Sip and Savor

Pour your favorite drink - coffee, tea, water, etc...

Before the first sip, pause.

Feel the warmth or coolness in your hands.

Take one slow breath. Notice the smell.

Then take that first sip…slowly, like it matters.

Because it does. And so do you.

Sundays Unplugged is your weekly reminder to slow down and create space for you. Remember, while your work, your people, and your life matters… so do you.

If this resonated, feel free to forward it to someone who might need this reminder too.

Legs propped up on rocks by river in the woods.

Hey Reader, A few weeks ago, I sent an email where I joked about wanting to pack a bag and run away to the forest. The truth is… it wasn’t entirely a joke. Lately, I keep coming back to the same idea and desire (one I've had for a few years): creating spaces where people can step away from the noise and busyness of everyday life for a few hours (or maybe even overnight) and simply breathe. No packed itinerary or pressure to “transform.” Just cozy places near nature with room to wander, time...

Grey cat stretching on couch

My main caregiver last week - Marley! I've been sick for over a week. What started as a bad cold in June turned into a sinus infection in July. By Monday, I knew I needed to rest. Not “kind of” rest either…actually rest. The lie down and do nothing kind. And I was going to. I really was. But then the Should Monster showed up. You know this voice. It doesn't come in loud, demanding and hissing because that would be too easy to dismiss. It comes in reasonable. It comes in small like…You should...

The view from a cabin I stayed at back in 2019. It was one of my regular solo getaways where I take time to rest and reconnect. Do You Ever Want to Run Away to the Forest? To be in a cabin where all you hear is the nearby river... the birds... the trees. The animals rustling around outside. You read. You live off the land. You walk the forest. You create, with no one watching and nowhere to be.Or is that just me? This has been showing up in my journal a lot lately. This pull toward a life...
