You have my permission to ease into 2026

I've been quiet in your inbox the past couple of weeks, so I wanted to begin the year by simply saying hello and Happy New Year.

And…I wanted to share one thought as we start this new year:

You don't have to hit the ground running.
You can ease in.
And you can start slow.

You get to set your own pace.

And yes, the world may try to convince you otherwise.

But I'm here to remind you to listen to yourself — and to trust your timing.

More from me next Sunday. For now, pause and take a breath.

Sending love and slow vibes,

Chris

Quick grounding practices to help you slow down and reconnect.

This Week's Tip: The January Pause

Step outside for two minutes (you can shorten it if it’s cold!).

Notice the temperature. The light. The quiet (or the not-so-quiet).

Take one breath in through your nose.

And one long breath out through your mouth.

Let January (and 2026) meet you where you are. Not where you think you should be.

Sundays Unplugged is your weekly reminder to slow down and create space for you. Remember, while your work, your people, and your life matters… so do you.

If this resonated, feel free to forward it to someone who might need this reminder too.

My cat Marley looking curious I've been thinking about curiosity a lot recently and this phrase from childhood popped into my head: Curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought him back. I don't know the origins of the phrase but I remember it being shared with me a lot as a kid. Maybe because I was always asking why. 🤷🏼♀️ And yes, I could have looked up the origin before sharing this email with you but I'm having more fun coming up with my own theories: To get kids to stop asking why all...

A peek into my morning ritual...candle, coffee, journal... I've been talking to a lot of people lately about small rest practices…things they can do when they're pressed for time or just starting a new rest habit. This is very much on my mind this week because I'm traveling, and traveling has a way of putting your practices to the test. For example, my mornings at home are a whole vibe: soft lighting, a candle, meditation, a bit of journaling. When I'm away, those things can either get tossed...

I missed the Global Day of Unplugging. Yes, you read that right. The person who helps people disconnect from the busyness of life completely missed it. What can I say…life 🤷🏼♀️ What is the Global Day of Unplugging? It’s an annual 24-hour pause that takes place the first weekend of March — a global initiative encouraging people to step away from their screens, slow down, and reconnect with what matters most. And I missed it. But wait…here's the good news! You can unplug anytime you want. So...
